In the morning we’ll pickup you at your hotel, and from there, we will start by visiting the famous National Palace Museum, the museum with the largest collection of Chinese art in the world. It houses objects spanning 8,000 years of Chinese history. After exploring the museum, we’ll take a stroll through one of the traditional gardens that surrounds it.
The National Palace Museum features a collection of 700,000 pieces of Chinese artifacts and artworks, many of which were transferred from the Forbidden City’s Palace Museum in Beijing.

From the museum and its gardens, we’ll head to the economic district of Xinyi to visit one of the city’s most iconic buildings, Taipei 101 Skyscraper. Completed in 2004 and considered the world’s tallest building until 2009.

Get ready because to reach the observatory located on the 88th and 91st floors, we be using one of the fastest elevators in the world. Once at the top, the observatory offers us 360º panoramic views of the city and its nearby mountains.
Additionally, we will be able to see the heaviest tuned mass damper in the world, which functions to absorb and stabilize the skyscraper against any natural adversities. It is also the only one of its kind open to the public.

While we enjoy the views offered by the observatory, your guide will be queuing at the famous dumpling and xiaolongbao restaurant, Din Tai Fung 101, so that once we return from the heights, we can eat and savor an exquisite selection of local dishes at this renowned restaurant.

Once we finish our meal, we’ll walk through the nearby 44 South Community to discover the historical past of Chinese soldiers and families who sought refuge in Taiwan in the lates 1940s.

Next, we’ll go to Freedom Square, which houses the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall as well as the majestic buildings of the National Theater and Concert Hall. The mausoleum is dedicated to the former dictator who ruled Taiwan for decades until his death. If we’re lucky, we might witness the changing of the guard ceremony held in front of the impressive statue inside the mausoleum.

After visiting the mausoleum and the huge plaza surrounding it, we’ll move on to the popular Longshan Temple, one of the oldest and most iconic temples in the city, offering a glimpse into Taiwanese spiritual life through its exquisite Buddhist and Taoist styles decor.

Following this, we’ll wander through the enchanting Monga district and the Bopiliao Historical Block, where your senses will be captivated by a harmonious blend of scents, flavors, and a vibrant juxtaposition of the past and present.

Finally, depending on how much time is left, we will visit the historic Dadaocheng district, which has the highest number of traditional businesses in Taipei. Chinese medicine shops, traditional spice stores, and handicrafts fill the streets. However, in recent years, new businesses have been modernizing the whole area, and you will be able to observe small centers of contemporary culture and even avant-garde restaurants. Here, we will visit the City God Temple, the fabric market, and a famous tea house.

Finally, after shopping and strolling through this picturesque neighborhood, we will head back to your hotel, where we will conclude this one-day tour with private transportation and an English-speaking guide.
